A set of brand guidelines for a leading biomedical research organization, designed to engage scientific, lay, and donor audiences with clarity and impact. The result was a more contemporary visual identity and tone of voice that conveyed both innovation and gravitas, strengthening brand recognition and clearly differentiating the organization from its competitors.
Gladstone’s outdated website no longer reflected the innovative research happening at the organization, prompting a full redesign. The new site communicates Gladstone’s forward-thinking approach and reinforces its position as a leader in biomedical research, resulting in a ~73% increase in direct traffic.
Grad Student Appreciation Week is a national annual event celebrating the hard work of students pursuing advanced degrees. I created a vibrant, abstract visual identity to convey “community connections” and build excitement among Gladstone’s trainees. The design unified the week-long program of events and contributed to strong attendance, positive feedback, and a greater sense of inclusion and support.
This biennial retreat brings together the scientific community at Gladstone for three days of talks and networking. I created a visual identity around the theme “Seizing the Momentum,” emphasizing the event’s scientific focus and building enthusiasm across the organization. The retreat saw record attendance with over 450 participants—a 13% increase from the previous year.
For Gladstone’s 40th anniversary, I developed a visual identity centered on a custom emblem and “pathway to discovery” motif to promote a year-long series of events. Applied across digital, print, and environmental materials, the design created a cohesive experience, elevated visibility, and strengthened brand recognition among scientific and donor audiences.
I designed Gladstone’s cardiovascular research report to make complex findings accessible to both scientific and lay audiences. A hexagonal motif symbolized biological structure and collaboration, while elegant photography helped humanize the science. The report was well received, reinforcing Gladstone’s reputation as innovative and approachable.
